#UNTAMEspaces
with Sqkii
Oct - Dec 2022
#UNTAMEspaces is a gamification solution created for one of Sqkii's client's, Singapore Science Centre. The game was part of UNTAME 2022: Spaces to Places, the Science Centre's annual immersive, blended festival designed to spotlight the power of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). Users play as a STEMling working to recover various spaces by completing missions - either by playing mini-games or watching educational videos with quizzes. Through performing well in missions, recovering spaces, referring friends, and topping the weekly leaderboard, players can earn Space Crystals which can be exchanged for attractive prizes.

The campaign was well received by participants, with an average overall enjoyment rating of 4.31 out of 5 stars.
The campaign also succeeded in spotlighting the power of STEM to a younger audience - players 12 and below gave an average 4.29 star rating when asked how much the campaign encouraged or inspired them to pursue STEM-related studies or careers, and an average 4.46 star rating when asked how much more they appreciated STEM topics after the campaign.
I was a Game Designer for this project. I was involved in following:
Brainstorming: Brainstorming different game ideas to fulfil the client’s requests and improve on the previous iteration, and pitching the ideas to the Business Development team
Game Design Document: Writing the game design document of all flows and mechanics involved for coding by the Development team
Level Design: Designing levels of varying difficulty for the two mini-games: Whack-a-Void and Void Vaporiser
Testing: Extensive testing of the game interface to ensure all mechanics were coded as intended
Data Analysis: Analysing campaign data and performance using Metabase and Microsoft Excel to gain insights on best practices and improvements for future projects
